About The Appeal
Statement of faith
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who created all things and sustains all life.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully human, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead, defeating sin and death.
We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, who convicts us of sin, guides us into truth, and empowers us to live lives that honor God.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, revealing God's will for humanity and providing guidance for faith and life.
We believe in the universal church, made up of all who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and in the importance of fellowship, worship, and service within the body of believers.
We believe in the forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus Christ, and in the hope of eternal life for all who trust in him.
We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ, when he will judge the living and the dead, and establish his kingdom in fullness.
We believe in the call to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves, following the example of Jesus Christ."
My testimony
Though I grew up in a Christian home in California and dedicated my life to Christ at a young age, my journey with Him has been marked by twists and turns. Even in my youth, the desire to serve as a pastor burned within me, but as life unfolded, I found myself pursuing other paths, including college. Yet, God's guiding hand was evident even in my pursuit of education.
I vividly recall a moment of divine intervention when I sat on a bench on campus, grappling with the financial burden of attending a Christian college. In that moment of uncertainty, my eyes fell upon the inscription of Philippians 4:6-7, my life verse, reminding me to trust in God's provision. With faith bolstered, I stepped forward, embracing student debt as I pursued a degree grounded in Christian values.
Following graduation, tragedy struck with the sudden loss of my father. Amidst the turmoil, I found myself drawn to Emergency Medical Services, where God's presence was palpable in the midst of human suffering. One particular encounter with a dying woman, to whom I offered a Bible, etched itself into my soul as a testament to God's sovereignty even in life's darkest moments.
As the world grappled with the onset of the Covid pandemic, I made a life-altering decision to leave the medical field and relocate to Texas. Little did I know, this move would thrust my faith into its greatest trial yet. Diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that threatened my very life, I found myself at a crossroads of surrender and trust in God's plan.
Through a journey marked by humility and relinquishing control, I experienced a profound encounter with God's healing touch. At a local Bible study, surrounded by prayer and community, I felt the unmistakable presence of Christ as He lifted the burden of illness from my shoulders. Though the road to recovery was fraught with challenges, I emerged on the other side, a living testimony to the power of God's grace and mercy.
In the midst of my own struggles, my wife, Mitzi, stood steadfast in her faith, trusting in God's promises even amidst concerns of infertility. In His perfect timing, God bestowed upon us the precious gift of our daughter, Lainey Grace, a living testament to His faithfulness and love.
Through it all, I've come to realize that Christ reigns supreme in my life. With a heart surrendered to His will, I heed His call to step out in faith, embracing my calling to share His Word with all who will listen.
